The Ukrainian singer Maruv has announced a new album and the first EP under her alter ego Sharlotta Ututu. This release, titled “Love Songs,” will be available on 27/10/2023.
The announcement of the new album was made by the singer on her social media profiles. Fans expressed their excitement on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, eagerly awaiting more details, which are yet to be revealed.
This will be the singer’s second music release in October 2023. Previously, she released the song “Big Mama Boss” on 07/10 under her alter ego Shlakoblochina.
It is intriguing that the announcement of the promotion was accompanied by an illustration and music from the release “Killing Me Softly“. The song was initially intended as a preview for a studio album that was planned to be released under MARUV. As the year is drawing to a close, it raises anticipation whether she plans another release for this year besides this EP.
A day earlier, MARUV will be performing as her alter egos Sharlotta Ututu and Shlakoblochina at a concert in Dubai. Dubai appears to be one of the singer’s favored locations for performances. However, if you were eagerly anticipating a potential tour, we regret to inform you that there is no official announcement of additional concerts at this time. Nevertheless, we can hold out hope for possible concerts in the coming year.
MARUV is indeed one of the most popular singers in Ukraine, and Sharlotta Ututu is one of her alter egos. She has released music under Shlakoblochina, including her debut extended edition (EP) titled “Fatality“.
MARUV, whose real name is Hanna Borysivna Korsun, is a Ukrainian singer who has used multiple stage names, with MARUV being one of them. She has an impressive discography, with four studio albums: “Stories” (2017), “Black Water” (2018), “No Name” (2021), and “Killing Me Softly” (2023), as well as two EPs: “Hellcat Story” (2019) and “Fatality” (2020) released under the name Shlakoblochina.
In 2019, MARUV was initially chosen as Ukraine’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Siren Song”. However, a dispute arose due to the rights to the song, which were owned by the Russian publisher Warner Music Russia. Part of the contract with the publisher required her to perform in Moscow. When it was revealed that MARUV would have two concerts in Moscow, the Ukrainian Minister of Culture issued a statement stating that musicians who did not recognize the territorial integrity of Ukraine and those who had tours in Russia could not represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. As a result, MARUV did not participate in the contest that year.
