The organizers of the SoAlive Music Conference, scheduled to run from 19/10/2023 to 21/10/2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria, have unveiled the official playlist of the festival.

For fans of regional music, an expansive audio voyage awaits! Enthusiasts of Balkan music icons still have time to purchase tickets before the festival commences. And if a bit of extra motivation is needed, we are thrilled to introduce the official playlist featuring remarkable songs from the festival participants.

In this carefully curated list of songs, you’ll encounter exceptional music and a dynamic rhythm that encapsulates the essence of this vibrant musical region. The playlist showcases highly talented artists, including the captivating sounds of Hayes & Y, Pocket Palma, Juno, Dina Jashari, Hey! Douglas, and Yon Idy. The musicians are at the core of the music segment of the SoAlive conference, exemplifying the diversity and creativity of music in general.

Beyond Dina Jashari and Yon Idy, there will be several other Macedonian musicians and bands. Attendees can look forward to Zarina Prvasevda, Red18, and Zanadu.

Who are the Macedonian representatives at SoAlive?

Dina Jashari, the young and incredibly talented singer, composer, and producer, graced the “Modro i Zeleno” festival this year. She presented the winners of the Milan Mladenovic Award for this year, “Ljubichice,” with their song “Dok chekamo pad“. Dina herself was the recipient of this award in 2022. Her discography includes five singles and an EP titled “Doma“. For those who caught her recent interview with Trn, the exciting news is that a new song is on the horizon.

Zarina Prvasevda is making headlines as the recipient of the “Best New Talent” award at the Upbeat festival. Her music beautifully captures the rich cultural tapestry of the Balkans. Her single album, “Echo,” encapsulates Zarina’s artistic vision, a journey into the realm of freedom and exploration, drawing inspiration from the diverse impressions of folklore heritage, as Password reports. For those unable to attend SoAlive in Sofia, it’s worth noting that Zarina will also be part of the PIN music conference taking place in Skopje.

Behind the stage name Yon Idy is the talented Jon Ajdini, a singer and music author hailing from Macedonia. With a collection of ten singles under his belt, Yon Idy’s music enjoys popularity not only in Macedonia but also in Albania. Impressively, his very first single, “Gentle,” soared to the twelfth position on the Albanian charts. Exciting news awaits fans, as Yon Idy has announced his debut album, set to drop in 2023.

Red18 is an emerging funk-rock band that has recently entered the Macedonian music scene. The band consists of Elena Maneva on vocals, Jovan Chifligaroski on guitar, Marko Toshanov on guitar, Ivan Dimishkov on drums, and Aleksandar Kocevski on bass guitar. Impressively, they have accumulated enough original material to put together an album. Their debut studio release, “Red18’s Grit,” serves as a promising indication of their musical potential.
