Mick Jagger, despite recently turning 80, remains as active as ever. The Rolling Stones have unveiled their upcoming album, “Hackney Diamonds”. Fans of this legendary rock band will be thrilled to know that more official details are on the way. The official website has a save-the-date calendar with a timer set to expire on 06/09/2023.
Rumors of a new album began in August 2023 after the group leased advertising space for a fake advertisement for a glass repair company in a local London newspaper. Fans of the band noted that the ad contained associations to some of the group’s biggest hits.
“Our friendly team promises you satisfaction” or “When you say gimme shelter we’ll fix your shattered windows” hints are not too subtle, so “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Gimme Shelter” are easily noticed. Soon after the announcement, the following songs were submitted to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers under the names Jagger-Richards:
- “Angry” (with Charles Watts)
- “Bite My Head Off”
- “Depending On You” (with Charles Watts)
- “Dreamy Skies”
- “Driving Me Too Hard”
- “Get Close” (with Charles Watts)
- “Live by the Sword”
- “Mess It Up”
- “2Morning Joe Cues”
- “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”
- “Tell Me Straight”
- “Whole Wide World”
Since the advertisement itself announces that the “specialists in glass repair” open in September, the release date is just around the corner. “Hackney Diamonds” marks the Rolling Stones’ 31st studio album and notably the first without drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021, according to the Standard.
