Tyketto has released its sixth studio album, Closer to the Sun, via Silver Lining Music. The record arrives a decade after the band’s 2016 release, We’ve Got Tomorrow, We’ve Got Tonight.
Album Details
Closer to the Sun contains 11 tracks, including “Higher Than High,” “We Rise,” “Starts with a Feeling,” “Bad for Good,” “Donnowhuddidis,” the title track, “Harleys & Indians (Riders in the Sky),” “Hit Me Where It Hurts,” “The Picture,” “Far and Away,” and “The Brave.” The album was recorded at studios in the UK and Europe, such as Flip Flop Studios and Rockfield Studios in Wales, with mastering by Dirk Ulrich. Current lineup includes vocalist Danny Vaughn, guitarist Harry Scott Elliott, keyboardist Ged Rylands, bassist Chris Childs, and drummer Johnny Dee.
The album is available in physical and digital formats, including limited-edition vinyl. Pre-orders were available prior to release.
Pre-Release Singles
The band issued the lead single “Higher Than High” in November 2025. “We Rise,” the second single, arrived on January 20, 2026, with an official video filmed at Base Studios in Stourbridge. Vaughn noted the track’s collaborative origins, with Elliott providing the guitar riff and chorus, which Vaughn and Childs refined; the lyrics address resilience amid challenges. The title track followed as the third single on March 17, 2026.
Denim and Leather Podcast Discussion
Danny Vaughn appeared as a guest on episode 50 of the Denim and Leather podcast, recorded March 5, 2026, and released March 22. Hosted by Uros Veljkovic and powered by Music Nonstop Today, the interview covers the album’s high-energy rock style, positive themes, writing process involving bandmates and co-writers like Jim Peterik from Survivor, recording at Rockfield, release formats (CD, vinyl variants, digital), views on streaming, career reflections, and 2026 tours. Vaughn described aiming for uplifting music despite global pressures, distilling energy from debut Don’t Come Easy (35 years old in 2026), with excitement matching that release.
