SMUT, the Macedonian metalcore band, has released a new video for their single “Eden den,” (translation: One Day) with Vladimir Mitrevski – Gjule directing it. SMUT has been influential in establishing the metalcore style in the region.
“The idea of expressing pain through words on paper, turning emotions into melodies, and visualizing it through videos was something we couldn’t imagine.
Thanks to the whole team that worked on this project, we came up with the video for “Eden den”!
Two factors played a pivotal role in our decision to create a music video for this song: the enthusiastic response from the audience during our last performance at the D Festival, and the recommendation of our director, Vladimir Mitrevski – Gjule, after he listened to the track. Vladimir is the director responsible for all our videos, and he typically selects the songs that will receive a visual treatment.
Exploring the theme of loss in a music video, where the primary focus is on conveying sadness and emptiness, is an incredibly challenging task. This responsibility rested heavily on the shoulders of our director and the main character, the ballerina Mila Ninovska, who brought her character to life exactly as envisioned by the director. Even the vast, empty room we used as a backdrop couldn’t fully capture the profound emptiness of our loss…..”
