A Drumless Edition of Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” album

On 17/11/2023, Daft Punk will release a new reissue of this legendary album featuring versions of the songs without percussion. This new release is part of the ongoing anniversary celebration, and fans can anticipate more surprises throughout this anniversary year for the album.

About the Original Release of “Random Access Memories”

Random Access Memories,” released in May 2013, quickly captured the hearts of fans. It made its debut at number one on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for an impressive 56 weeks. As expected, the album also claimed the top spot on the Electronic and Dance Music Chart. Notably, Daft Punk clinched the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2014.

10 Years since the Album Release

The reissue from May this year came with 9 added bonus tracks that had not been publicly performed until then. The album peaked at number one on the Dance/Electronic Music Chart. Besides the 35 minutes of additional material from new songs, the album came with interesting surprises for the fans. The CD version came with a digital booklet of twenty pages, and with the vinyl, there is space for a poster in addition to the booklet.

In addition to all this, the anniversary celebration also included “Memory Tapes“. These are kind of memories of the work of the collaborators who worked on the last Daft Punk’s album. Julian Casablancas, Chili Gonzales, Panda Bear, DJ Falcon, Todd Edwards can be heard in the interviews.
