The Orlando-based music and arts event MadSoul Music & Arts Festival emerged in 2015 when Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost joined forces with Niyah Lowell and Chris Muriel. The community-based event began as a local project that expanded into a statewide celebration, bringing together young activists who participated in political and cultural activities. The previous editions of MadSoul Festival brought unexpected performances from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, MUNA, and Phoebe Bridgers. The festival provides financial support to Florida-based organizations working on community development, justice, and voter engagement initiatives.
