I missed it, but last week, Nelly Furtado released her fantastic new single, “Love Bites.” The song features collaborations with Swedish pop singer and songwriter Tove Lo and British DJ SG Lewis. It was released on May 22 and has already started climbing the music charts.
Love Bites is written by Nelly Furtado, Tove Lo, and SG Lewis, who also produced the song. Nelstar Entertainment published the single.
Since 2023, the singer presented three collaborations. She worked with Dom Dolla on “Eat Your Man; with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, she worked on the great song “Keep Going Up“; on “Gala y Dalí,” she collaborated with Juanes.
Last year, new fans discovered Furtado’s music. Platforms like TikTok brought new fans to her music, and DJs quickly followed the trend with remixes. The singer recently attributed her music “comeback” to the DJ community.
“I felt called back to music from the DJ community. DJs were remixing my songs at concerts, clubs, and on social media, and I realized how much people like to dance and escape to my music. It’s the healthiest vice you can have, and I love the opportunity to write music that lets people escape more than anything.”
Nelly Furtado
It is unclear if Nelly Furtado will include “Love Bites” in her next album.
The release of “Love Bites” came almost simultaneously with “Say It Right” reaching a billion views. It’s the singer’s first video in the Billion Views Club. It took 15 years for the song to rack up the views, but that is a tremendous and rare milestone.
Nelly Furtado fans can see her with some fantastic artists in the Electric Forest 2024 Festival lineup and as part of the Hard Summer Festival Lineup. She was supposed to perform at the Lovers and Friends festival, but the festival was canceled due to bad weather.
