Born on 16/04/1985, in Thessaloniki, Greece, Katerina Stikoudi was raised in Thessaloniki as the daughter of Nikos and Dina Stikoudi. Beginning her swimming training at the age of eight, her exceptional swimming abilities led her to secure a professional contract at the PAOK swimming academy.

Katerina Stikoudi initially garnered public attention in 2001 as a PAOK swimmer, achieving fifth place at the national swimming championship.
