YOVA’s “Where There Is Smoke” shoes the duo’s distinctive signature style, which defies categorization. They classify their sound as alternative or electronic pop.
YOVA is a duo composed of Jova Radevska from Macedonia and Marc Vernon from England. The list of their collaborators includes world-famous musicians who have collaborated with several music stars and bands. The vocals and lyrics of this release are by Jova Radevska; guitars are played by Mark Vernon and BJ Cole who has worked with Bjork, REM and Beck; Daniel O’Sullivan of “Grumbling Fur” is the bassist in this song; Ana Phoebe plays the violin and Nick Holland the cello. The arrangement is by Rob Ellis who is known for his work with PJ Harvey.
The song also serves as a prelude to their highly anticipated debut album “Nine Lives” set to grace the world in November 2021. Yova Radevska and Mark Vernon have already released several singles and EPs: Togetherness, Moondog, Rain, An Innocent Man, Stay.
