Lollapalooza is one of the biggest rock music festivals in the USA and the world. It started as a touring event, but after a while, Grant Park in Chicago was just too perfect a fit, so they decided to keep it there every year.
Lollapalooza is a 4-day music festival in July or early August. Hundreds of thousands of music fans come to Chicago every year to listen to what some of the best rock and metal bands in the lineup have to offer. We believe that Lollapalooza 2024 will be the same. The Festival sells out yearly, and attendance is estimated at around 400,000.
Lollapalooza is a global phenomenon with local editions in several countries. The Festival is also held in Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Sweden, and France.
When Is Lollapalooza 2024?
This year’s edition of Lollapalooza will be just a bit later than usual, from the 1st to the 4th of August. Chicago weather in August is excellent, with average temperatures between 82°F (28°C) during daytime and 64°F (18°C) at night.

Lollapalooza was traditionally a place to hear artists from various genres in the lineup. In the past, it was more of rock, alternative, hard rock, and metal festivals. Today, you can also see some of the best pop, hip-hop, or electronic music artists on the festival stages. With nine stages, there’s something for everyone!

How Much Do the Tickets for Lollapalooza Cost?

Thinking about what you’re getting, Lollapalooza tickets are an excellent deal. In 2024, a 4-day pass is $409; single-day pass prices vary depending on the day and lineup. The cheapest starts at $149, but after tickets sell out, prices can get crazy high.
Tickets are selling out fast, but you can find 4-day passes on Ticketmaster (affiliate link) or Vivid Seats (affiliate link). But please be aware that the resellers on Vivid Seats usually offer tickets at a higher price than the original one.

- Prepare for the weather, and don’t strain yourself. It’s a four-day event; even though it’s summer, some weather changes may surprise you. Also, while it will be hot during the day, nights will be chilly, so dress appropriately.
