The independent post-punk trio Sonic Punter has released their new single, which they titled “Cloud Indigo.”The song creates a hypnotic atmosphere through its combination of deep guitar sounds and its melancholic vocal performance.
The song is composed by Tuomas Asikainen. Mikke Vari writes the lyrics, and the song’s arrangement is by Vari, Palvanen, and Asikainen.
Along with the single, Sonic Punter is sharing a live video of “Cloud Indigo” on YouTube. The video was filmed in June at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki and shows the band’s raw, intense live sound. More live videos from the same show will be released in January.
The song’s promotion was scheduled for 20th December at Maanalainen in Tampere.
Sonic Punter is currently working on their second album. “Cloud Indigo” is a special Christmas gift for fans and will not be included on the new album, which will be released next spring.

Sonic Punter emerged as a Finnish post-punk and post-hardcore trio that formed in 2020 in Lahti before they moved to perform in the Helsinki/Lahti area with Mikke Vari playing bass and singing, Tuomas Asikainen playing guitar, and Taito Palvanen on drums.
The band creates an unfiltered musical style that follows post-punk principles through their use of dark atmospheric soundscapes, their magical guitar work, their powerful vocal delivery, and their unconventional live performances. The band released their first EP, “Double Vision,” in 2020, which started their music discography. The band started their live album career with “Oxygen Eater – Live at Lepakkomies” in 2022 before releasing “Lucifer/Venus – Live at Torvi” in 2023, and then a split mini-LP with Mother Goose in 2023 and their first studio album “Twin Stranger” in 2024 through Blue Bear Records.
The band distributed their music through Bandcamp, but lately they have made their songs available on Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. The band uses Instagram and YouTube (“Sonic Punter TV”) to share music clips, concert footage, and band news.
