YOVA’s Performance in the Troubadour Pub

The Macedonian-British duo YOVA, composed of Jova Radevska (vocals) and Mark Vernon (guitar, piano, and various instruments), had a performance at the legendary London pub Troubadour on 25/10/2023 (Wednesday). Performing at the Troubadour is a significant opportunity, as the audience is known to be highly musically knowledgeable, and it often includes industry professionals.

We reached out to Jova to get some insights into her experience performing at this iconic pub Troubadour and to learn more about the atmosphere at the gig.

“The event went very well, with great sound and attendance. We are very pleased, and it was an added bonus to have BJ Cole in the audience, as he sometimes performs with us on stage”.

During their performance at the Troubadour, Jova and Mark were joined on stage by Alex Thomas. Along with YOVA, Leo Walrus and TJ Owuso also performed on the same night. This occasion marked the first time the group played their current single, “The Dreamcatchers”.

The Troubadour Pub holds a legendary status in the music world and has seen performances by iconic artists such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix, who had their first UK gigs at this historic venue. It has also been a launching pad for emerging musicians, including well-known acts like the Chemical Brothers, Adele, Florence and the Machine, Ed Sheeran, and Hozier.

After the Performance at the Troubadour Pub, YOVA is preparing for Daylight Music

YOVA will perform next at the Daylight Music event, where concerts are typically held on Saturday afternoons, and offer a unique approach with a “pay-what-you-can” ticketing system, making the events accessible to all ages. Alex Thomas and Terry Edwards will perform on the Daylight Music stage with YOVA.

“Our next performance is on 18/11/2023 at the Daylight Music event that and is part of the EFG London Jazz Festival”.

The Daylight Music event is part of the EFG  London Jazz Festival, which features a line-up of renowned artists like Emeli Sande, Marcus Miller, Camilla George, Charles Lloyd Ocean Trio, Mette Henriette, and Norah Jones. The festival spans ten days, running from 10/11/2023 to 19/11/2023, offering a diverse range of live performances and collaborations, as well as opportunities to discover emerging musical talents alongside established stars.

In addition to their live performances, YOVA is diligently working on their upcoming album. The recent release of their single “Dreamcatchers” serves as a precursor to the album, which, barring any unforeseen changes, is scheduled for an official release at the beginning of 2024.
