Cassidy Paris: The New Rock Sensation

Cassidy Paris - New Sensation

In the world of rock and roll, there are few rising stars as electrifying and talented as Cassidy Paris. At just 20 years old, this young guitar prodigy has been captivating audiences worldwide with her blistering guitar solos and soulful melodies. As she gears up for her much-anticipated tour across the United Kingdom and the release of her new (debut) album “New Sensation,” we caught up with Cassidy to get a sneak peek into her musical journey, her influences, and what’s in store for her devoted fans.

Cassidy Paris, the Australian-born guitar sensation, is a name that’s been on everyone’s lips in recent years. Her virtuosic guitar playing, combined with her mesmerizing stage presence, has garnered a growing fan base that spans the globe. But don’t let her youth fool you; Cassidy’s talent and dedication to her craft are far beyond her years.

First, I wanna ask you about your background. When did you realize you wanted to play and sing Rock? Was it from an early age?

Cassidy Paris

I have grown up with music. From as early as I can remember I have always loved music. My parents played a lot of rock music at home since the day I was born.
I would often sit and watch my dad (Steve Janevski) perform at his concerts. I can still remember going to see my dad perform at venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe in Melbourne, Australia from about the age of 3 years onwards.
I began learning guitar at the age of 8 years and I started singing at the age of 11 years.

You are Australian, but actually, you have Macedonian roots since your last name is Janevski, right? Do you speak Macedonian maybe, and, did your father guitarist Steve Janevski influence you a lot while you were growing up?

Yes, my surname is Janevski. Cassidy is my first name and Paris is my middle name. Yes, my father’s side has Macedonian roots. My mum’s side has Hungarian roots. I know a few Macedonian words but we speak English at home. My grandparents would also often teach me about my Macedonian background.
My dad influenced me in a major way. He taught me that a good song is a good song, no matter the genre. He also taught me a lot about songwriting and how it’s often a good idea to have strong hooks in my songs so they are catchy to the listener.
As a kid, we’d listen to music together all the time. From Michael Jackson and Prince through to Thin Lizzy, Dio, Pat Benatar, Heart, KISS, Van Halen, Lita Ford, Ratt, Dokken, Skid Row, H.E.A.T, Pink, and Halestorm. The list goes on.

The main cause of this interview is that you’re releasing your debut record in December 2023. You signed to a very big label, the very famous Frontiers Records from Italy. How do you feel about this, and what are your expectations from everything? Are you excited?

I’m extremely excited and feel very fortunate to be on a label with many artists I’ve looked up to. Bands like Night Ranger, Stryper, Winger, Lynch Mob, Orianthi & Eclipse are all amazing and to think I’m on the same label as them is kind of surreal.
I feel very fortunate yet determined to do well. I have lots of people to thank who have always believed in me and supported me. It’s also great to have many of my friends on social media part of it. I really appreciate all of the good people who have joined me for the ride.
I can’t wait for people to hear Cassidy Paris’s debut album “New Sensation“. It’s taken a lot of work to get to this point. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I loved making it!

You released already a great video for the great song DANGER taken as a single for the new album. Will you be releasing another single before the CD hits the shelves?

There will be another single released next month (Nov 2023). I also filmed another video for another release. I’m sure information about their release will be announced soon. Please follow my socials to stay updated.

You already toured the UK once last year, and you are doing it again on ’23/’24, scheduled to tour in UK again. Do you see yourself touring more in support of the new album, like Europe, USA, or maybe the whole world tour in the near future? We’d love to see you touring here in the Balkans.

I would love to perform in Macedonia. It would make me very proud as it’s a part of my bloodline. I definitely plan to tour as much as possible. So far I’ve performed in Japan, the U.S.A., the U.K., and of course Australia. I’ll be back in the U.K. this (2023) November & December and I can’t wait!

Did you have any older releases than this new record? Some older videos, or EP’s maybe?

Yes, I previously released two EPs which are now sold out. My first EP is called “Broken Hearted” and my second EP is called “Flirt“. I’ve been releasing music since I was 13 years old, and lots of videos too.
I think it’s important to get out there and perform. I like writing & recording songs in the studio but I love getting out there and playing my songs live. It’s awesome to meet my fans.

Since you are female-fronted rock (as much as I hate that label cause females rock harder than men in a lot of cases), which bands and maybe female rock stars were and are still your inspiration?

Great question. Artists such as Pat Benatar, Heart, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Vixen, Saraya, Lzzy Hale & Pink are some of my favourites. They’re all unique and have helped females gain the respect women deserve. I’m more than happy to try and put my stamp on things in my own way.

What is your favourite song from the new record “New Sensation”?

Some of my personal favourites are “Danger” as this was one of the songs that Frontiers loved from the beginning and helped get me a record deal. Two of my other favourites are “Here I Am” and “Midnight Desire“.

What are your future plans with your band and your music? More albums and touring maybe?

All of the above. As an artist, my aim is to keep getting better. I want to keep developing my songwriting and I also want to keep developing my voice. I’m keen to learn as much as I can! Definitely more albums and touring.

And as a last question, Do you have a message for your fans, especially the new fans to be here from the Balkans?

Please give my music a listen. I definitely plan to make it to places such as Macedonia and greater Europe sometime soon.
