If you are wondering who is Eleni Foureira (Ελένη Φουρέιρα) this article is for you. She is a singer, actress, dancer, and fashion designer. Foureira is an attractive pop singer representing Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
Is Eleni Goureira Albanian?
Eleni Foureira was born in Fier, Albania, in 1987. She later became a naturalized Greek citizen.
In 1997, due to the unrest and attacks on her family’s home during the riots in Albania, Eleni Foureira’s family moved to Athens, Greece. In Athens, her interest in music began to flourish, and she started learning to play the guitar. Additionally, she ventured into the world of theatre during this time.
Due to concerns that her Albanian origin might hinder her acceptance in the music industry, Eleni Foureira initially concealed her heritage. She initially presented herself as Brazilian, then altered her narrative to state that her father was Greek. Eventually, she decided to disclose her Albanian birthplace and clarified that she had obtained Greek citizenship through her Greek grandfather.
Foureira began her music career in 2007 as a Greek female pop band Mystique member. However, the trio was relatively short-lived.
After two years and two released singles “Se alli selida” and “Min kaneis pos de thymasai”, Mystique disbanded.

In 2012, Minos EMI released her second album, “Ti Poniro Mou Zitas. ” Then, in 2014, she released her third album, “Anemos agapis,” under the same label. Between 2015 and 2016, Eleni Foureira took a brief musical hiatus. During this time, she had a role in the musical “Barbarella: The 80s Musical,” alongside other Greek pop stars. In 2017, she made her comeback with her fourth album, “Vasillissa, ” released under Panik Records.
