Kristo Rodzevski in Bitola and Thessaloniki

The Macedonian jazz musician Kristo (Krste) Rodzevski announced two concerts in the first half of September. The concerts will be held in September in Bitola and Thessaloniki.

The Bitola concert is set for 07/09/2023, and will grace the stage at the NU National Teatar – Bitola. Following that, the Thessaloniki concert will unfold on 08/09/2023, serving as a presentation of Rodzevski’s latest album, “Black Earth”. Collaborating alongside Rodzevski on this album are Dominic James, Josh Werner, and Adam Rudolph. Notably, the album is produced by the renowned Bill Laswell, a name revered among jazz enthusiasts.

Kristo Rodzevski’s previous meeting with the Macedonian audience was in June at this year’s OFFest. Since the end of the 90s, Rodzevski has been creating and working in New York. The Macedonian singer, guitarist and composer collaborates with some of the most famous names on the New York experimental and improv jazz scene.

Rodzevski’s discography spans across six albums. His releases include “Batania” (2015), “Bitter Almonds” (2017), and “The Rabbit And the Fallen Sycamore” (2018), all launched under Much Prefer Records. Additionally, “Hubris” was created for MOD Reloaded (2020), while “Fair Weather Friends” debuted under Point of Entry in 2022. Notably, his latest, sixth release titled “Black Earth,” was released through Defkaz Records.

Downbeat magazine included “The Rabbit and the Fallen Sycamore” in its best albums list for 2018.
