The album “Pesni za ljubov i kopnezh” (Songs of love and longing) by Karolina Gocheva, in collaboration with Duke Bojadziev and Ismail Lumanovski, is now available on all popular music streaming services.
The essence of the album revolves around the revival of the “forgotten” precious gems from the “golden era of pop music” in Macedonia, spanning the vibrant decades of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The intention is to curate a compilation that pays homage to these songs from Macedonia’s musical history. Additionally, part of the task for the contemporary authors and performers is to retell the stories of these old songs in a new manner. This act of remembering these songs will help younger generations become acquainted with the cultural musical heritage. The exceptional song “Idila” was chosen as the lead single, making its debut on 02/06/2021, accompanied by its own music video.
To celebrate and promote the release of the album and to share its enchanting melodies, a series of five concerts were organized. These magical performances took place at the Macedonian Philharmonic from 23/12/2022 to 25/12/2022, charming the city of Skopje with a musical journey through time.
Excellent timing for a concert series under the promotion label of the album, which contains 11 covers of evergreens by Macedonian composers Dimitar Masevski, Shpato, Brangjolica, and Todor Bojadjiev, with new arrangements by Duke Bojadziev.
“Pesni za ljubov i kopnezh” is an incredibly good musical backdrop for a cosy and quiet atmosphere with a nice glass of wine.
