Great news for the Macedonian diaspora in Australia! Republika Entertainment has announced that in 2024, the Australian audience will once again have the opportunity to see Next Time, Lambe Alabakovski, and Nikolche Micevski live. Considering that this year’s (2023) performances were fully booked, the news of a new tour will likely bring joy to Macedonians in Australia.
This is not the typical line-up we often see on tour in Australia, but the previous visits of these musicians have shown that both the audience and the artists themselves are enjoying these performances.
As of now, there is no official and specific information available regarding the tour’s schedule. However, it’s confirmed that the Macedonian community in Australia will have the opportunity to enjoy live performances by Next Time, Lambe, and Nikolche. The exact dates and venues for these performances are yet to be fully determined, but it’s anticipated that these artists will continue the tradition of performing in familiar locations such as Perth, Wollongong, Sydney, and Melbourne.
The announcement made by Nikolche Micevski on social media reveals that the tour is scheduled for April 2024. It’s noteworthy that this time frame is consistent with the period during which Nikolche, Martin Filipovski, and Stefan Filipovski (Next Time) performed in Australia this year. Evidently, they had such an enjoyable experience that they decided to replicate it next year.
We talked briefly with Nikolche Micevski about the experience from this year’s performance and the expectations from the tour.
“Given that this year we had a wonderful tour in Australia, sold out concerts to the last seat, excellent organization, an audience as any artist could only wish for, I expect our next tour to be even better.
The concerts differed from all the concerts of our artists in the past years, and maybe some of the audience didn’t know what to expect, so a lot of them were surprised by what was happening. In April, we expect on our concerts many of those who failed to find tickets this year. They will be even more ready for what we offer on stage and give us support, attention, positive energy, love, respect, and all together we will celebrate Macedonian music”.
said Nikolche Micevski
This line-up is a departure from the typical folk or traditional music performances we associate with tours in Australia. However, the positive response from past performances highlights the existing interest in Macedonian entertainment music among the Australian audience.
“Definitely, Australia has one of the best audiences in the world who love and respect Macedonian music”.
added Micevski
Next Time and Micevski embarked on an excellent project titled “Majka” (Mother). This project served as a wonderful tribute to the timeless old Macedonian songs that hold a special place in the hearts of a wide audience, particularly among Macedonians, both within the country and beyond its borders.
