In September and October 2023, several Macedonian musicians will tour Macedonia. The music caravan “Makedonijo vo srce te nosime” (Macedonia We Carry You in Our Hearts) has already left Shtip, and will visit several cities by mid-October.
The goal of “Macedonia We Carry You in Our Hearts,” as its organizers state, is to revive Macedonian patriotic songs. The songs are performed by a line-up including Lambe Alabakoski, Mina Blazhev, DNK, Ognen Zdravkovski, Andriana Janevska, Mile Kuzmanovski, Zuica Lazova, Naum Petreski, Bojana Skenderovski, Marija Spasovska, Suzana Spasovska, and Aleksandar Tarabunov. These renowned Macedonian singers deliver renditions of well-known Macedonian songs, with arrangements by Nikolche Micevski.
During the tour, the Macedonian singers will perform a selection of patriotic songs, including “Bolen mi lezhi Mile Pop Jordanov,” “Edno ime imame”, “Zavetna” “Zemjo makedonska” “Mi zaplakalo selo Vatasha”, “More sokol pie”, “Nalej, nalej”, “Narode makedonski”, “Ogan da gori”, “Oj, Vardare”, “Poslushajte patrioti”.
The tour has already kicked off with a concert in Shtip. It will continue in several other cities across the country, including Bitola, Veles, Prilep, Kochani, Tetovo, another concert in Bitola, and a final performance in Skopje. Here are the scheduled dates for the concerts:
